Hunting on approach

NORWAY

We propose to come and hunt the wild reindeer in Norway in the Breheimen and Jotunheimen National Parks. This hunt is a traditional hunt dating back to the Ice Age. Breheimen National Park : reindeer hunting lasts only 20 days. There are only a few licenses on the big male in the area, so this hunt is rare and exceptional.  The starting point for this hunt is Skjåk. The landscape is breathtaking with the 2,000 metre peaks in a mineral setting around us. Jotunheimen National Park : reindeer hunting lasts only 20 days. The hunted area was reopened 2 years ago, after being closed for 8 years. The great reindeer are scattered in different valleys and are easier to find in the first days of hunting. These are really exceptional trophies in this area.

Hunters must be in good physical condition and able to walk 5 to 15 km per day. There is also a possibility to hunt in both National Parks on the same trip.

  • Jotunheimen National Park : Take a flight to Oslo and then the connection to Sogndal. From Sogndal 1 hour 15 minutes drive,
  • Breheimen National Park : Take a flight to Oslo, then take a rental car to Skjåk, which is about 4 hours from Oslo Airport.
  • Jotunheimen National Park : Hunting begins on August 20 and the hunter must arrive the day before in the morning to check the papers and weapons settings,
  • Breheimen National Park : Hunting takes place only from August 20 to September 10. The hunter must arrive the day before in the morning, in order to check the papers and the weapons settings.
