It is the equivalent of the hunt in the rest of Europe, but it adapts to the orographic characteristics of Spain and the cultural particularities of Spanish hunters. The view is breathtaking and allows shots to be fired beyond a hundred meters.

Monteria is the most traditional big game hunting in Spain for 8 centuries. From 15 to 60 hunters and more than 200 dogs participate in the monterias. The monterias I propose allow you to hunt deer, wild boars, fallow deer and mouflons. The final picture is difficult for a foreign hunter to imagine.

The Monteria starts in the morning with breakfast followed by the drawing of lots for the posts. When all hunters are in place, the dogs are released with their handlers and reelers. They travel all over the area to be hunted, they lift the animals and direct them towards the shooters.

When the hunt is over, all the participants gather in a meeting place, on the property itself, where the painting of the fallen pieces is displayed, photos are taken and lunch is served, telling each other the anecdotes of the day. Each monteria is different according to the established quota of pieces to be slaughtered per hunter, the territories, the density and quality of the animals and the number of shooters.
